Hi, is there any difference between the " Rudd Ranger " (previously known as Husky Reds), from hoovers, and the red / freedom rangers you see everywhere else at every hatchery?
Is it just a name change or is this their own mixture of breeds? I really want to try these but not if they are plain...
@Molpet I've been following the toad line closely, just seems he's having issues with heart attacks like the the cornish X's, I believe his toads are
Cornish X cornish = F1
F1 X ranger = F2
F2 X cornish =F3 (toad)
75% cornish
25% ranger, which is probably 25-50% cornish itself, which is too...
Thank you @Geena, that's exactly what I was looking for, hopefully more posts start coming up about robust whites in the future, just waiting for my brooder to free up from my lf cochins then ill order some (many graphs and charts coming) might even cross some robust whites to my biggest cochins...
Yes, I've read every post on them, seems the last mentions of them was around 2012,2013, mt-di hatchery doesn't have a website anymore and seems like that was theri specialty bird. Picking up bits and pieces it seems like they might have been a cornish X mixed with a ranger type bird which I...
Has anyone bred their their broiler (cornish, red broiler, husky red, freedom ranger, red ranger, Dixie) to a heritage breed? Can you post any pictures of the results? And maybe some info on adult weights and sizes? Thank you

"To answer your question about growth rates for the meat breeds, the fastest is the cornish cross, next is the red broiler which is very...
Hi, have you noticed any differances between your husky reds and red broiler/freedom rangers? Any information would be greatly appreciated as there is barely any information online for them, thanks
Thank you guys, so In general then hybrids don't breed true to color but does that also apply to egg production also? Say red or white stars or amber links?
Hello, I have a question about breeding sapphire gems, (290 eggs/year?)
I know they won't breed true to the colors and I'll get a variation of blue splash and white spotted but will the egg production still be the same in the second and third Gen?
Thank you Micheal, so if egg production was basically the same in the 3 strains you've owned, was there any physical or behavioral difference in them, and did you own any cocks off those strains?
Hello, I'm interested in hearing from owners of white leghorns who have had some experience with different strains.
I understand these birds all have leghorn ancestry and some are hybrids, and I would like to know what they were mixed with and why.
I know every hatchery has their own stain...
