Ok Minnesota friends how do I help keep my chickens cool in the heat that we will be having for the next the days. I do leave the window in the coop open on nits that I know it's not going to Strom. I give them frozen yogurt has a treat.
I have a question. I'm still new at the chicken thing
I have a buff that has laid a egg every day since she started laYing a year ago. And it has been 3 days and she has not laid a egg. I did just add 4 new 12 week chickens to the group. a week ago. She did lay for a few days and has stopped...
I went and got some new chicks this year and they are about 8 weeks old, wondering when I could place them in the coop with my 6 older hens, right now I have them in the run but separated by fencing so they can see and smell but not touch, been that way for about a week,
this is what I have in the coop is that x-mas rope light it's 25 feet long. do you think I need more. and do I have it coming at the right time.. this morning when I left for the lady's were outside at 630am

I have three nesting boxes for 6 hen all the same age , this hen was the first one to start to lay, and she did in the nesting boxes, for about 3 weeks but when the other started to lay she started doing this, I know that she is laying before the other's I go and check every morning and there...

so right now I place a box under her with hay in it that way the egg does not brake, is this the right thing to do or do I just let lay it and have it brake
the thing that bugs is she used to lay in the nesting box every day until the other chickend started to lay then she started this, I have gotten 2 eggs from her only by putting box under her at night
