    Splint for curled toes

One of our australorp chicks started showing curled toes within her first week. My husband and I immediately started looking on BYC for advice. We tried the cardboard/bandaid shoes, but they only stayed on one night. She also looked awkward and uncomfortable trying to walk. The pipecleaners...

    Hello from JB-Theropod

I'm building a small run for our birds so they have a place to go outside this winter, if they want. I already have the bottom of the coop fenced off so they can safely go under the coop and not have to worry about predators or getting wet. This spring, I will be adding a 35 foot run onto the...

    Hello from JB-Theropod

Hello, My wife and I recently joined backyard chickens! We love this website! It has been very informative when seeking answers to our questions. We live in the lovely state of Wisconsin. This fall we built a very nice chichen coop for our 17 chicks. We have 6 Black Australorps, 6 Red...

Ha ha thank you! I actually fit comfortably under the coop. The coop is about 3 feet off the ground :) I'll post more pics in spring or when I finish the portion of the run I'm currently building for them. Here's a picture of their roosts for when they're older.

Here is ours. It's not finished yet, but we do have chicks inside. We plan on adding a 35 foot run off of the side and they will have access under the coop.
