    Poor Penelope :(

My best and friendliest girl died and I have no idea why :/.. No wounds or lost feathers. Eyes and beak were normal, no crust or discoloration. Crop felt empty. She even layed one last egg before she died. Her vent had the normal poop feathers around it. I have no clue why she died, any ideas?

Looking for a quick an easy coop

I am keeping them separate just so I can watch them, check for any issues, and let them acclimate. I know they've been exposed to natural light or natural ground their entire lives, so I know a lot of the issues (like the cataracts) are probably caused by these conditions.. Just in the one night...

However my existing coop is very tight quarters so I'll probably need to build a temporary coop for the 6 new birds. I'm hoping for a plywood, wire...

     How to handle my malts

My normal feed for my chickens are laying pellets, a bucket full of scraps every 2 days and crushed oyster shells mixed into the feed. Scraps are usually fruits and veggies with some misc scraps like meats, rice, or other pastas. They are just about all utility or hardy chickens, not strictly layers

     How to handle my malts

Ahhh makes sense. Are laying pellets considered a high protein/fat diet?

     How to handle my malts

Ok so I know a chicken molts and recovers and for a time a halts egg production. I know for rabbits if you give them calf manna it'll speed up the process, is there anything that can be done for the little cluckers? :p thanks
