I have one, she just started to lay beautiful green eggs. Out of 2-1/2 weeks, she only missed 2 days. On one day, she laid 2 eggs. She is super sweet and friendly. Fairly quiet... The perfect chicken!!!
Yes, RIR and Delaware. Bovine brown. I let the guy know that raised the 60 chicks. He has not gotten any green eggs. She has laid her first 5 eggs ( in a row) today. She's so nice and docile too.
Thanks for the reply and the welcome! She may be a Bovine Brown sex link ( the breeder that they got her from breeds this type). I googled images of Bovine browns and they are lighter in color, but who knows. She's really sweet, glad she joined our flock & I look forward to tons of tasty eggs.
What kind of red sex link do I have? Just got her today, 17 weeks old. She's pretty dark, deep red with some black on her tail feathers tips. Orange legs. No white blotches like my last red star. [/IMG][/IMG]
My salmon faverolle layed a tiny egg at 16-1/2 weeks. That was 2 weeks ago, no more eggs. I know that 16 weeks is extremely early and its January, so I'm not too concerned that she stopped laying forever. I have never had a pullet that layed a first egg and stopped, however.
I just added 2 girls; salmon faverolle and Exchequer Leghorn. If I could add just 1 more it would red sex link (red star) because they are friendly egg machines.
Thanks everyone, he's going on Craig's list today.no roosters allowed in Milwaukee. Dissiapointing but life will go on, its good to know though. Thanks!
7 week old not sure of the gender or breed. It hatched out of an olive colored egg. I'm M guessing a rooster because of the pink comb, but am in denia[/IMG]
