I just has to post this. My girl Oprah is in her nest box as we speak. So I went out to the coop and took a picture of her. She is so cute sitting there.

Are green bell peppers o.k. for chickens to eat? Will the eggs taste bad? My son through a bell pepper in the girls' run and I've notice the girls have pecked at it.

I found another egg in the nest box today when I got home from work. This will make it #4. I'm not sure which of my chickininas laid it cause it had a grayish little poofy feather ( guess someone called them petticoats. Anyway, here is a pix. This egg has little speckles on it.

Southern28Chick I'm in the same boat as you are. My black orpington laid her first egg last Thursday , no egg on Friday , then we got a second egg Saturday . We didn't get one on Sunday nor today .

Our black orpington is in the coop right now as I write trying to lay another egg. I figured she would cause she was bak! bak! bak! this morning. I went outside and looked thru the window of their coop and their she is laying on her nesting box. Ohhhh she is so cute!
