    Buyer Beware!!!...Chicken Coops NW

So, just an update, because it’s been awhile. 1. You can sue in small claims court no matter what state you or the other party live in, just file in your state and they will be served electronically. 2. We won, technically because he defaulted, but the judge did hear us. Of course, he hasn’t...

    Buyer Beware!!!...Chicken Coops NW

Thanks for replying. I have discovered that you can take your claim to small claims court in the state where YOU live- that’s good news. Just file at the District court covering the county that you live in.

    Buyer Beware!!!...Chicken Coops NW

Still dealing with the esteemed Mr. Hyatt. (I am a woman of the North, and we do not bend the knee. Also Irish, retired, and with a little bit of discretionary income, so, it’s on.) I am curious to know if anyone else has taken him to small claims court?

    Buyer Beware!!!...Chicken Coops NW

Hi, Arlingtonchick, I too, was taken by Chickencoopsnw. I have requested the owners name and contact information 3 times thus far, and they completely ignore the request and offer me “replacement parts”. “Sheena” has claimed that Alan Hyatt sold his interest in the company, (which I do not...

They don't seem to "get" the ladder.....

Thanks. everyone, for your advice. I have just come back in from some errand running, and went round back to see how the birds were doing. I had lowered their ladder just before I left. Well, everyone was up on the roosts, staring out the window at the run! So, we will just wait and know that...

They don't seem to "get" the ladder.....

My husband built our coop, (it's terrific, and I'll post pictures soon). He studied lots of other coop designs, and built the hole and ladder according to what he learned, so we are sure that it is pretty standard. The problem is, our 4 buff orps and 4 gold-laced wyandottes (7 weeks old each)...

    Can you identify this bird?

Wow, so many answers, so quickly! Thanks! Hmm, a spruce grouse? I've never heard of one before. He said that he just came upon a "group" of them on a trail, not near any home that he could see, but that they seemed quite tame and didn't mind his taking pictures at all. No, we are not in...

    Can you identify this bird?

A friend photographed this bird high in the mountains in Montana, and asked if I knew what breed it was. Well, ..no. I am a newb. Anyone? http://hphotos-snc1.fbcdn.net/hs207.snc1/7431_539498204271_16004123_32184203_3675473_n.jpg

rain... and daydreams of winter - am I losing my mind?

I'd much rather layer on some clothes and load up the woodstove than swelter in the heat! I have a good friend who's originally from Garland, Texas, and she just returned today from a two week visit back home. How she laughed at me when I pointed out that she had returned in time for the...

    What women's lib?

Quote: Bravo! I laughed out loud at your clever response. I kept my "own " name both times I married, and am old enough to remember being irritated at a snooty DMV clerk who snapped, "What did you do THAT for"? "Because I can choose, and I chose, Thank you". I remember being at an early...

    Hello, I'm another "Newbie"

Thanks for all your kind welcomes! We considered a big rubbermaid tub, and may go there yet, but I have been reading about how much space each chicken needs, and I didnt want to crowd them-so the box which fits in my tub is bigger than any tote I've found yet. How much room do they need, and at...

    Hello, I'm another "Newbie"

and I don't really know how to use a forum, but thank goodness I have teenagers to help me out. My husband and I moved up to the country from Boston quite a while ago, and I have wanted to raise chickens for years. We finally managed the time, space and money to build a coop (I will try to post...
