    Dead Chick, Why?

That is sooooo helpful! I went out and candled her eggs out of the 11 only 4 are possibility viable. So I put them in the incubator a hour ago. I marked the air sack, I guess if there isn't any change within 5 days with the air sacks I'll have to assume that their not viable either.

    Dead Chick, Why?

I would like to take out the rest of the eggs and try to incubate them, but my husband wants to leave them alone. He thinks she knows what she's doing. As to when they should be hatching I haven't a clue as to when she laid each egg or when she started brooding I don't know. She is in what...

    Dead Chick, Why?

Oh one more thing when I checked its temp before it died it was severely shaking. When I found it dead it was lying on its side with the legs completely stretched out and stiff as a board. I held it for a bit to see if it was just sleeping but no movement or breathing.

    Dead Chick, Why?

She's still sitting on the remaining eggs. I have a infrared temperature gun that I check the chicks temps with and a regular thermometer for the incubator. So should I take the eggs that are left and candle them?

Great news the chick is doing awesome, he is chirping, scratching, eating, & drinking. He had a rocky start, the first few days after he hatched I wasn't sure if he would make it. When he was old enough to be put with the other chicks he sat directly under the heat lamp and slept. After 2...

    HELP, HELP, HELP!!!!

Today the bubbles stopped and the chick started chirping. So I'm thinking that the lungs must not have been ready when the little one pipped and at the wrong end. So I hope that he can continue to hatch without help. His inner membrane is still vascular.

I have a chick that pipped yesterday at 5:00pm central time, it was already 48hrs overdue and it pipped at the wrong end. Since the pip there hasn't been any noise the chick is only opening & closing its beak with what appears to be bubbles coming out of the beak. It also appears to have...

As of now 9, 10, & 11 hatched, 12 hasn't piped. 13 piped, but at the wrong end. I'm in knots, this waiting game is terrible, now I won't get any sleep until 13 hatches and 12 pips. I have the humidity up to 75% I hope that 13 can zip without any issues. Then again 12 hasn't made any progress...
