Hi there i have a bantam family, who had hatched eggs in spring, it is now going into winter here in new zealand and they are hatching babies again. they have three babies and are sitting on about a dozen eggs. is that normal for them to go broady in winter? i'm very lucky with these bantums as...
well i have another update on my little feathered friend (kev) my partner arrived home, the next day i let Kev out for a fly and he never turned up :-( that was 4 days ago, so im guessing he's gone home, and was only meant to be with me while my partner was away. well i really enjoyed his...
i have 6 hens sitting in one box that is just chocka full of eggs ( at least 50eggs! in one box lol) and also have four other girls sitting in separate boxes. there are so proud of there babies and i am so proud of Roo the rooster as he is such an awesome dad he stays there and help feed them...
well my hen had there eggs hatch. one of the mums bought it out to see me lol so cute they are a bantum family the chicks are only 1/2 an inch high and cute as a button. it's black. im so proud mumma i know i have seen others but this mum deliburtely bought the chick out to see me like i am part...
nawwww thank you so much i feel that too he chose me for a reason. i just adore him to bits! He's so special. And i do see how people get so attached to there pigeons. especially when they show you such loyalty!
here's an update on Kev. he's still here and happy as a bird could be. i get to have a cuddle with him everyday which i just love. He really was sent to me. i think he is so precious!
it's a horrible feeling having to give this little fella back as i think he's just beautiful! but i stand by my word that i will try my best to find the owner. in your experiences have you ever had a bird go back on to the so called "new home"? in a situation like i have experienced?
thanks for that i will try and get in touch with the owner of this lil fella, i will see if i can by him, but of course if they want him back then he goes. i have hoped that he would fly back to his home on his own accord but he seems to be happy in my company. maybe he is here just to protect...
i just sat down with him and cuddled him for about ten minutes, he just sat there in my hands looking at me while i was talking to him i then put him in front of me, he was so relaxed that he sat there for ages just taking everything i said in. is that normal with a pigeon or is he bonding with...
i have let him outside for a fly around and he's just come back. i think he thinks i am his mate. he's not inside yet but he's making his way in. i think that's the best out come for him to spend his days flying around and if he wants to he can come in for the night. it's such a beautiful...
hahahaha how gorgeous. i live out in the country in New Zealand, we have been here for about 6 months. ive had nothing to do with pigeons at all, so it all new to me. All i know is that we have an amazing bond. it's weird like we are long lost buddies!
yes i will try to find the owner. i have it in mind to see if they will let me buy him. im reluctant because if he is only used for racing than what will be his out come. but given the fact he's so friendly and more than happy to sit in my hands i feel maybe he's someone's loved one.
i think he is here to stay. i kind of think we have really bonded. i was so excited to see him again. and my cat and dog are not bothered by him being here it's like he's meant to be here. im not sure why he has chosen my place or me but i'm so glad he did! i kind of think there's a reason why...
