Does anyone live in Butts county? Every time I try to look up the ordinances, my phone goes awry. I think it should be good for chickens or pigs but I don't know.
NP! Right now, we're in Mableton and have been in the same house for almost 5 years. In my opinion (just a CYA) don't vote for the incumbent Cobb county surveyor...that's our landlord. Not a man of his word and really doesn't care about anything but his rent check. Won't fix the roof or mold and...
Absolutely! We're going as far as Rockmart, Woodstock (trying to stay away from 75/575 if possible), etc. I know you're up there, but a good deal is a good deal! Dave works in Woodstock and I work in Riverdale. Not a real happy medium.
Need a little help. I am hoping someone on here has seen a property (with or without a house) that is for rent in the 'anywhere but NE or too far from Atlanta' area that is chicken friendly. We found a spot in Jackson but no internet for my husband's job. It's an option but we would prefer to...
Chickens for sale! Anyone want a Rhode Island Red mix (French Wheaton Maran or Golden Laced Wyandotte mix) or my RIR purebred. Looking for a calmer flock. Even though these girls lay the largest eggs (Sassy, the one pictured Golden Laced Wyandotte mix, lays medium to large eggs, but very winter...

It's definitely good to have cool weather birds to carry you through the molt of the warmer weather ones! Think I might be going for Australorps next...kinda even out the red/black bird ratio.
The Maran crosses are AWESOME! They lay large/jumbo eggs, are pretty sweet and good foragers. Not sure we'll be keeping the Welsummer cross, she's a pain and lays medium eggs, a lot of them though. Not sure on the Black Star, but she's our favorite as far as personality. All the layers produce 6...
Ok, question. Can a chicken be male and female? I have noticed red spots on the yolks in some eggs and today I saw my one RIR hen, whose laying again, mount my Black Star who should be laying any time now since her incident. The RIR was literally mating her. I don't have a rooster and always...
