This morning I found a poopy mess on my hens feathers. As I cut it out, I found a big red bulge were her vent was. What can I do to help her? What is wrong with her? Here is a pic.
For years, I have tried and failed to hatch out my own chicks. I have changed out the rooster and the hens. All of them are the same sized birds, with only 10 hens to a rooster. I can't figure it out! I have put them under several broody hens, tried my incubator several times, but still nothing...
I'm thinking of getting a few budgies and after awhile of getting to know them let them fly around in my 50 by 20 ft chicken run that has a roof. Would this be ok considering the fact chickens will be on the ground and maybe some chicken feed too? I also have a 150 by 60 ft tarp building/riding...
I was hoping to get a little budgie or 2 but don't know if tending 2 a sick chicken or duck then to a budgie or the other way around will transmit diseases. In general can birds (poultry, parrots, ect.) transmit diseases?

Hi, I have been searching sites and found repetition of breeds and was wondering all the breeds in the world! Also I want to raise birds at risk and find new favorites. I will also list the breeds at the second thread for easy findings, thank you all for your participation!
I will be looking forward to these focus breeds but I was wondering if in any way possible to have a list of them, and also if all of these birds will be found in the ''American standard of perfection"? Will / is there more breeds going to be more breeds than are in it?
Sorry for any hassle.
