They have access to oyster shell at all times and I crumble up egg shells and add that to their feed. I'll have to look into a mineral supplement. Thanks!
Well dang! Makes me wish I could have a rooster. Maybe I'll find some fertile eggs to put under her. In the meantime, it would be nice to have the eggs she's sitting on hahaha. We have 5 lay boxes, but all of them like using the one she's in. Now I'll have an egg hunt too
I have 6 gals in my flock and one of them consistently lays thin shelled eggs. There was a short period of time where the flock had a duck feed (wrong feed was purchased and not noticed until egg production for everyone went down)We went back to our Purina Lay pellets and her shells are still...
I have a black Australorp that appears to have gone broody. She hasn't left the nesting box in almost 24 hours. She's probably got about 6 eggs (unfertilized) under her. Are they typically a broody breed? I've had Buff Orpingtons who would go broody as we came into summer, but none of my other...
A couple of my chickens have runny yellow poop, what's the best thing to help them? I don't have a vet that nearby that I can take samples too and I don't necessarily want to just treat with antibiotics but it's 2 of my 6 birds so I want to help however I can.
I'm thinking this is a soon to be roo :/ which I can't have where I live. The big ole feet and comb concern me lol. Especially since it's only a month or so old. Any guesses?
We had this same issue when we introduced our EE's to an established flock. Our mistake was that it was one EE to the 5 established. We got a second one from the same hatchery and it was a MARKED difference. They two together weren't as picked on. We'd give separate feed to them in an area set...
Mine is 27 weeks and still nothing. I feel like I'm waiting for the birth of one of children...waiting on this dang Easter Egger egg hahahaha. She's not exactly squatting yet but she stopped running away when we walk near her, she just freezes. Hopefully soon!
