No they don't have grit but they have the crumbles. Do they still need grit? Its kind of weird that its just my 2 Australorps with the poop stuck to their butt
One of my chicks has poop stuck to her butt. Can I just wipe it off? She's not sick is she? Sorry, I'm a first time chick parent and I'm a little over protective.
Hi I was wondering if it was dangerous to have my heat lamp resting on the hardware cloth of my brooder. Its the perfect spot to keep my chicks nice and warm but not too warm. Its not touching any of the plastic, just the metal.
Thanks!
Well I was going to start with 6 but everyone keeps saying chicken math is definitely a thing and I'll end up with 12 so I made it bigger. There's going to be a couple windows and also a few vent spaces. I figured it wouldn't be too hard to plan out a couple more. I haven't bought the lumber yet...
Where is the best place to get chicks from? Preferably within driving distance (2hrs) from Omaha or a low shipping fee? I really don't want to spend $40 on shipping. I really only want 6-12 chickens. Any help would be appreciated!
So if I get 6 chickens now and then 6 chickens next year, logically I will have only half my chickens molting at a time? Or would it be like 2 separate flocks?
