Very well done, and I come from 3 generations of master builders. Anyone can build a nice coop using all new materials. Yours is well thought out and executed showing real creativity too. Thanks for sharing.

    Pulling out own feathers?

1 of my 7 quails is plucking out her own feathers. Is it possible that she is the only one infected with mites or parasites? They have plenty of space (4 sq feet per bird), fresh water, good quality layer feed, low stress. There are 6 hiding spots and 2 dust bath stations. I see her breaking off...

That is pretty close, except mine are not bleeding and no gauges. Just changed the bandages so I will get feet photo next time. I did get rid of the sand boxes where they could scrape bottom. Will replace the sand with bedding and still have dust/ dirt in the deep terra-cotta pots.

    Re-occurring bumble foot Help!

Wyorp, I appreciate the questions. The "kernel" never was expelled that I can see but it was not a splinter because they don't run around outside and the cedar boards are sanded and stained with a non toxic finish. You can wipe the boards with a Kleenex and not get a tear in the tissue. They do...

Bandages come off and 3 weeks later they go back on. I will go into detail. Also one had died in my home after given much...

Cold nights ahead - do my hens need a heat lamp in their house?

My quail enjoy heating pads made just for poultry. They use less energy than a heat lamp and thermostat controlled so they don't over heat or start a fire. LINK TO ONE SUPPLIER HERE https://www.statelinetack.com/item/thermo-chicken-heated-pad/E012081/
