I would really like a magpie duck for a pet, not for showing. I would really like a magpie duck with very little black, like a couple spots near the breast, head, etc. So, what about hatcheries?
I second that! Also, either with your phone or a security camera if you have one, video yourself with a Internet clock next to you and your dog. Internet so she won't be able to say you changed the clock'speed time.
If you can't do that, next time the doorbell rings, get your phone and record...
What do the geese look like? I heard most hatcheries cross toulouse (or another breed) with the embden. So usually hatchery embdens have black eyes. I like black eyes so I'm fine with it, but what about the body shape? Is it more round and heavy, because I would like them to be a nice slim-ish...
Look up Chicken Psychology 002. It's very knowledgeable about how to break up rooster fights. You got to catch the roosters first for this method. Of course, your situation is different, because gamefowl are way more aggressive than most. But if you are able to somehow establish one of the wild...
I've been wanting a specific breed of chicken that can only be shipped, either as hatching eggs or adults. I really wanted the experience so I figured hatching eggs. I'm getting them around June :D :D :D Happy!!!! I told my parents and they agreed to it. They were a bit skeptical though. Today I...
Say that I have raised chickens from the egg. I teach them how to eat their chick starter, I cuddle with them, play with them, etc. The thing is, you never know about hatching eggs so I'm going to buy more than I need. If I get too many I have to let some go. If I stop playing with a baby chick...
Hi, I'm looking to buy BBR chicks in early summer. I heard BBR males will have a more muddled pattern than females, and females will have an almost black outline around their patterns with dark "eyeliner" that extends to the neck. Can I use this method to tell the gender?
Is there any way to known the gender of one day old heritage breed chicks? If I take the chicks to the vet for a DNA sexing, how long would it have to wait to get the results? Help!
What happened to her? is she all right?
Edit: and also, I found another breeder. It is kind of obscure, but people had good breeds from them too. Northwoods Poultry, I think.
Pretty much all hatcheries are pretty bad at keeping breeds pure. Try searching Cloverleaf Farms (they are also in this thread I think). I heard people had great a great experience with them.
