This morning I noticed my 1 year old RSL wheezing. At first I thought she was happy to be eating a bug she found but the noise didn't stop. What signs should I look for and how can I tell when to take her to the vet? Right now she is acting normal, just very wheezy.
I began putting my chicks outside during the day in a chick tractor when they were 3 weeks old. Some advise against this, but they were growing restless in the brooder that I keep inside my house. I wanted them to be able to get sunshine and fresh air, and bring them in at night, so I tried it...
I have wondered about chicken behavior as well. I would love to learn more about them. I lost 2 chickens in the past 2 days and I thought it was a cat, but on the second chicken I caught one of our dogs killing her. What amazes me is the other chickens all saw this happen, both times I'm sure...
I have a sneaky suspicion that the chick on the left is the welsummer, her eye liner is more defined and the chick on the right has more hints of color spread out over the face. But like I said, I am inexperienced so I don't know if I am thinking in the right direction or not.
One of these is a welsummer and one is a brown olive egger. I'm stumped (but also inexperienced) I'm hoping some of you experts can shed some light. :)

This morning I found the second egg like this under my roost. All other hens are laying in the nest. Hens have been laying for 2 weeks. The egg shell is broken in a perfect circle but the membrane is still intact and the egg is not eaten. I have fake eggs in the nest and I tried the egg filled...
Since you butcher at 8 weeks, do the cocks ever begin to crow? I only ask because I live in town and would like to raise meat chicks, however I could not do it if they began crowing due to neighbors.
My chicks are 9 weeks old, outside in coop, free in the yard during the day. I noticed this poop on the porch and I don't even know which chick it came from. Im a little worried about it now. Advice from the experts please? Sorry if this question is repetitive, I wanted custom advice. :) Thank...
I have a 7 week old Red sexlink pullet who is growing bent, crooked or twisted feathers, giving her a frizzy apperance. It makes her look really cute, but I just wanted to find out if anyone knows what can cause this, and if it's something to worry about. My other sexlinks are growing straight...
