Thank you both for your advice. I ended up keeping her in the dog crate, but out in a pen with a tin roof. She never showed signs of over heating and hatched 5/6 eggs. I like your water bottle idea, and do believe if I am in the same spot again I will use it.
Well, I should have been asking different questions about a week ago. I've had chickens for 3 yrs now, and there's always more to learn. Last year I attempted to make a home made incubator, which I guess technically did work, but hatching 2 of 10 is not good success. So this year I bought a...
Thanks for the info, so as is, I should be able to keep up to 18 chicks, I probably won't have that many, but nice to know. I have two chicken pens, I let my current chickens free range but their coop has a run (20x8) for the times we're unable to let them out. I have built a 2nd run slightly...

The pink 1 had just a small spot, the blue 1 was lighter colored and had a larger spot, the green 1 had a larger spot, and the purple 1 had a medium spot
I got them 4 weeks and 4 days ago from tractor supply. I got 4 PBR, 4 RIR, and a couple days later 4 BO. They are starting to show signs of sex, and I have read many threads here and other places on how to tell. I still am not sure about them though. Please help me, as I can't keep them if they...
That's what I'm afraid of, would you hold out a little bit longer or try to move them now? We have a local livestock swap meet, I'm hoping to trade them for at least 1 hen if they are all cockerels
