I'm sure it's probably been asked and answered elsewhere.... I have a one year old barred rock rooster, and some new chicks, they are three weeks old and still in the brooder. The Question: how old do ya'll recommend your chicks be, before introducing them to a mature rooster? I am getting...
Not sure about domestic ducks and geese, but wild ones?? If it tastes like liver you've screwed it up!! Wild ducks and geese need a bit of care... If they aren't gut shot, I hang them, about three days in the shade one if it's warmer out, longer if it's below 35. Then the rule is: low and...
All animals go through this process. If you have a dry cool place to hang them once they've been butchered, hang them! Just like a side of beef or a hog or even deer. I duck hunt, I sometimes leave a duck hanging from anywhere between 2-7 days!! It'll help the flavor as well. In the Far East...

So we bought a farm... Well really it was a house, shop, and lean-too like structure with a hog panel run that we're not sure what it was used for. But we're putting it into chickens, with some modifications... Everything but some of the chicken wire is reclaimed from around the place. Any...

So it's been years since I've raised chicks. Even coffee can't jar my memory, so I'm asking the other pros:
How old and how warm of outside temps before I can leave the heat lamp off during the day? Thanks in advance!
Where do you find plucker fingers? Kinda new. I've done meat birds in the past, but always hand plucked. I've wanted to build a plucker.
First post, be gentle. Lol
