Is it normal for them to have a 'wrong' comb? I have heard of that before. And in that case, how would you know that you have a Dominique and not a Barred Rock?
Ooh!! One of the black and whites has a rose comb, so she is a Dominique not a Barred Rock! The lightest one is definitely Barred rock though. The other 3, had a pinkish cast to the back of the legs. I went out today and really took a good look at each of them. :)

Still trying to figure out what my rare breed assortment is. I think the 5 black and whites are Dominique, though one is way darker (in 1st picture)
Possibly Sussex for 3 of the brown ones (like in 2nd picture) and each of the other 2 look different. Anyone know?? Thanks :)
Ok so I just looked online....again! The black ones are NOT barred rocks. I have had them before and they do not look the same. These are a maran of some sort.
I actually went online and also looked at the catalog....narrowed it down by about half, but that was about it. I even looked at Myer Hatchery and Murray McMurray catalogs for the same breed pics
We've had barred rocks and ours looked a little different....these have yellow, not white (sorry....it's hard to tell with the lighting).
As far as the brown ones....the one with the prominent spots, I thought could be a sussex or a Welsummer, but not sure about the other 4 because of their...
