Great post I too live in Salt Lake. We really want chickens, but still learning as much as possible.

I would like to build it, so I can fit it right between our raised beds. That would help keep the drafts down in the run area.

Thanks for the advice. How do chickens do in a tractor with the snow in the run? I'm worried if I move the tractor around they won't like the snow.

I was thinking exposed 2x4's, we are planning on having a roof over most of it, but just worried about the sides. Most of the coops I see in the coop section have exposed 2x4's.

I've been lurking online for a while now trying to do all my research before I pitch the idea to my wife. We live in the suburbs so I'm thinking a chicken tractor will work the best for us. Do those of you with tractors worry about the sprinklers? I've seen some really nice plans and designs...
