thats just it, she seems completely fine. she's eating she's drinking normally. her feet don't look sore.... she just seems like she's cold and trying to get away from drafts. she just seems very sensitive to the cold. i don't think she's molting. i don't think there are mites, i've checked a...
Since the weather has gotten colder, one of my girls won't go on the roost bar. Is this just because she's really cold? Or is something else wrong? She just lays on the floor of the coop all cuddled. Anything helps!!! Thank you!
hi!! I haven't really checked for mites or lice, but i do feel that if i had either of those the other girls would have it as well. i did notice today my so called "mom" of the group peck at that spot on her back... so i'm not sure what that could mean, she also could have been pecking to get...
This is my golden campine. She has recently started laying about a month, maybe a month and a half ago. I noticed something wrong in her feathers and have just kept and eye on it, but this morning it has seem to gotten much worse. She is the smallest of my 3. does anyone know what this is...
yeah, all 3 of my girls are almost 23 weeks! haha! thank you so so much. that helped me out more then you know. my nests definitely don't have that 5" lift, so i will have to add that and see what happens! i really enjoy using the hay because it way easier to clean up, especially under their...
Hi friends,
So, i've already posted about my girls not laying yet... well i stuck those porcelin eggs in there and it's almost like they think there toys. i put hay under their roost bar and in there nesting boxes along with the fake eggs and they just scratch them out.... any other suggestions...
Thank you so much for lifting my spirits about them laying!!! i think i am just so excited to have them lay that i just worry too much about it happening. thank you again!!
my chickens are 5 months (22 weeks) old. none of the 3 that i have left have laid yet. should i just keep waiting? do i need to get a gen that is already laying to persue them to lay? i've changed there food already that is oyster strong. but that was almost a month ago and still nothing. any...
THANK YOU!!!! i was like there is no way this is a sebright! I had a feeling it was a rooster, but i just needed to make sure & find out the actual breed. thank you again!!
i watched her digging back there. i didn't see any of the others plucking her. i have 5, with plenty of space in the coop and run. could this be a result of roosters being with them? i just finished there first bag of chick starter food.
i'm just going to post a picture because i have no idea what this one is. i've been told it was a sebright? but i definitely don't think it's that because that's not any of the names that i have on my reciept when i bought them lol. any help will help! thank you so much!
I am not sure the breed because everyone has told me different, but she is 8 wks old, and she is pecking herself so much she is bleeding on her back right side by her tail feathers. is this okay? do i need to get her medication or something? please help!!! thank you so much!!!
do have one more question if you can help. Now that I have to give this one away, I did some research and i'm planning to get a hen that is already laying, and she will be a barred rock. BUT with my other 4 chickens being only 2 months old, will that be a bad combo? or is there a way i can...
**** it! :( well thank you so much for your help. that really helps and makes a lot of sense with his combs and waddles. I love barred rocks though, so I might just have to get another one and hope for the best!!! thank you again!
