I try to keep some nice lawn for my daughter to play on and its actually nice right now which is saying a lot for southern California but those gophers have it so pitted up with...

    Gophers in coop!

I have not seen anybody eating my chicken's food but the gopher holes are popping up in the coop. I know it's gophers because I have shot quite a few of them with my pellet gun in my back yard. great layer just quit?

I have a white leghorn who is 10 months old. She used to be a great egg layer. Now she has not laid a single egg in about 2 months. she seems active and healthy but her comb and swaddle are pale. Other than that I have no idea why she stopped laying. Is it normal for some hens to just not lay eggs?

    Chicken leg/foot injury

Well my injured chicken is on day 2 of her recovery and she is limping but hanging out with her sisters as usual. Even roosting with them. She chills out in her favorite shady spot and other than being a little slow she keeps on with her daily routine. Thanks for the reply and supportive advice.

    Chicken leg/foot injury

This morning I found one of my chicken hanging from her foot from the roosting perch. After taking her down and holding her awhile she seemed to be doing better. I made a nice clean area for her on the floor in the coop and she is able to move around. However, she is dragging the right lower leg...
