Has anyone successfully used automatic watering cups with pigeons? My quail have no issues learning to use them but I know pigeons drink differently than other poultry. Would the auto watering cup I have work for pigeons? I'm considering getting a breeding pair.
Thanks.
A little off topic and not about using herbs but have you looked into CO2 for small animals?
I've never tried it but it makes sense and looks easy.

Ive been using FF for my new quail for the 3 weeks since they hatched.
for the first 3 weeks I used a mix of game bird starter and ultrakibble.

thanks for that link.
but if I am using it correct. if I shoot for 24% protein ( put that in center) and put my percentages in the right 2 boxes (16 and 50) it spits out that I need a 3:1 ratio.
like this:
The ratio of to is 3.25:1.
This mix contains 76.47% and 23.53%
how did you figure...

so every other time I mow I just collect the grass clippings and dry them on a tarp in the driveway and use that.
works good.
gotta change them out every 2-3 days as the monsters are messy and stinky.
Been lurking and learning on this site for some time now. Wanted to say thanks to all for the knowledge gained.
I hatched out 17 (out of 24) Japanese quail almost 3 weeks ago. first time incubating in a home made forced air cooler. it was a fun experiment. currently have 10 female and 5 male...
