thanks to all. I kinda like the dimmer switch idea I havent thought of that.. The themostat i bought was just you standard hot water heater thermostat that ranges from 90-120 I believe. I have it placed about 6 inches from the light. think i'll try the dimmer switch A.S.A.P.

I just built my first homemade incubator. No pics yet but It is made from a Large fish cooler. It seems that every watt of light source I use puts temp up around 106 degrees. I have tried in this order 40,25,15,13 watt bulbs. So I need a thermostat right. I thought a hot water heater thermostat...

I would think this would be a lavender chick. to my understanding lavender is a simple recessive gene that dilutes Black and blue coloring to a pale grey. Cute chick!

thanks for that info. this may be a silly question but by F1's are you refering to the offspring of the 1st cross between the Lavender and Buff? sorry im am not good with the genetics. BTW know anyone with a lavender Roo they'll let go of...LOL. thanks for the info.

what colors would you breed to hopefully obtain Lavender & Porcelain Silkies. would like to start breeding toward these colors but not sure where to start.
