I see. To me personally, I would think more colour and less black would make him more aesthetically appealing. When you say it's an undesirable trait, is that because he's atypical?

Last summer we bought a variety of chicks and I don't know what breed this one is. There seem to be a lot of breeds with this type of colouring. I tried to ask the breeder whom I bought it from here in Nova Scotia, but I haven't heard back from them. Does anybody know? Thanks, Robin

I have this rooster and I'm not sure what it is. Can anybody identify it? There are so many types that have similar colouring. I got him as a chick from a breeder in Nova Scotia amongst a variety of chicks and I've asked if they know what it would be, but I haven't heard back from them...
