I have brinsea mini advance and its full of silkie eggs.
In the manual it says to fill half water until lockdown where u then fill it to the brim.
I've then been told to do this but also fill both halves at 10 days remaining.
Which is best?
I'm new to this and really interested in breeding and showing silkies!
Well I found the local show http://www.sohiopa.org/rules-regulations/
But I don't understand which standards to follow, are they both the same? It states: "APA and ABA rules will be used."
I haven't purchased either book...
So I got my dad a pot bellied pig last year and it grew bigger, grew tusks (still friendly as ever) but now he is missing hair. Whats up with that? Missing hair on legs too that you can't see in the pic.
I assumed he was just shedding for the heat but I'm scared now.
Wow fast response, thanks!
Well I have the Brinsea Mini Advance that only holds 7 eggs.
So 4 are developing, 1 with the bloodring and there are 2 that are non fertile then.
Can you tell if it is fertile before putting it in the incubator?
Also can you tell me what it says on that non...
So I wasn't able to candle on day 7 (this is my first time incubating/candling) but did so today (day 8).
Here I have 3 pics, the first one seems okay to me? And I really hope so because the rest of them look the same as it basically.
The second is a bloodring according to google and should...
Ok one last question.

I'm near Portsmouth and Jackson Ohio... I can't find anyone around here with Silkies! And that's the kind of chicks I want :(
Anyone around here?? Let me know!
This is my very first incubator, I have the Brinsea Mini Advance and it SEEMS to be absolutely perfect. Though I'm curious how accurate the built in thermometer is? I added a second one and it was about 2 degrees difference and I've read that just a degree off can ruin your chicks so it scares...
I would say stick with the manual for your specific incubator if it has instructions for guinea?
I know some baters have a fan and require one temp for chickens while those without fans turn it up higher because the air isn't as evenly heated.
Sorry I can't offer much help here, wish u...
I'm kinda new so I don'thave much advice about this but I'm curious and wanna learn!
Have they started getting along yet?
I don't want to scare you but I had a chick who ended up with a scab on her head. All the others wanted to bite at the scab and even though I removed her from the...
Thanks. I got it in the corner inside of a 10 gallon aquarium. It gets plenty of air through the top and I get to feel safer about the dog knocking it off. I set it to 99.5 and it usually reads 99.6 instead and every once in a while it hits 99.5 I still have 20 days to go but am too excited for...
Have any more hatched yet? I'd give them more time to hatch before pulling the plug, I've seen a few stragglers hatch a few days later somehow under a chicken (we never use incubators). I did read not to open the incubator any more than once per 6 hours though and to go ahead and let the new...
Wow really, outside?? That's awesome! If temps can vary that much then I won't be so worried. Just all the reading I've done you start to hear these horror stories and getting super worried for a first timer. I'd really like to know your results once they have hatched!
I just obtained a brand new Brinsea Mini Advance Hatching Egg Incubator and am super excited but now I'm really worried that my house temperature will not allow for a successful hatch.
I am in a really small house with nothing but a window AC that I manually turn on and off. The temperature...
Can I hatch eggs?? I just obtained a brand new Brinsea Mini Advance Hatching Egg Incubator but I worry because my house doesn't have a thermostat or anything. I just have a window AC that I manually turn on and off. Wouldn't that make the temp in my house too off for incubating? It really does...
