    WTB: Serama Hatching Eggs

Seems every time I come back to this forum, it gets more and more complicated to use...could be why I don't visit much these days.

    WTB: Serama Hatching Eggs

Looking for a dozen or so Serama eggs. Looking for the original Seramas...small upright birds...not the birds being bred to fit into the SOP. Shoot me a PM with a price if you have some to part with.

The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

Asked a while back with no takers, but now that we are a bit closer I'll ask again....Any one have a pair or trio of RC Reds they would be willing to part with traveling to the Ohio Nationals? We could make due with an extra RC cock/cockerel from Horstman's line since we have a hen from him...

    Bantam duck feeding and breeding

We are pretty new to ducks and I want to make sure I'm giving ourselves the best chance possible to be successful. We received a pair of Indies and a pair of Gray Calls last fall. This spring they did what they were supposed to, and laid fertile eggs....problem is, we did not have the best...

Looking for a pair of Mandarin Ducks to be picked up at Ohio Nationals, or the Eastern Ohio Poultry Assn. show in September. Shipping in early October is also an option if you are not attending one of those shows. Would prefer 2014 hatch, and we are not looking for whites or splits. Shoot...

    Best hatchery for 4H/FFA Turkeys

Wondering who has had great success with what hatchery for kids' 4H/FFA market turkey projects? Our county extension office does a group order each year, but it seems the kids that have the most success venture out on their own for birds, but obviously they tend to be a bit tight lipped as to...

I would be all over incubating the eggs...got four bators standing by but no one is laying! Our Bantam Rocks are laying pretty well, but we are getting nada from our LF and Bantam Reds. I figure these birds are over eight months old so any day now...! We have been pretty lucky the past couple...

The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

Okay...so I may have a problem, but I'm not really sure how to handle this one. Got a group of 13 LF reds back in Feb. and have grown them out. Cut the group down to 3 cockerels and 4 pullets to keep back for breeding. Removed one more cockerel to create two trios for fall breeding. All the...

    Manna Pro Hatch-A-Long! - First Sponsor Participated Hatch-A-Long – Set on 4/22

I don't normally get in on these, but I just happen to have some eggs to set. Will be loading up the incubator with about 2 doz Bantam RIR eggs, and about half a dozen each Bantam Buff Cochin, and Bantam Partride Wyandotte. They won't be put in until late this evening, so my counter will not...

    4-H Showmanship tips please?

It will vary greatly from county to county for 4-h, but generally they will break the birds into classes. Being heavy in the cattle and hog industries where we are, the poultry side of our fair is pretty light so they simply break the birds into a layer class, a meat class, and a "fancy"...

Is it feather footed? Wouldn't rule out a hatchery quality Sultan if it's booted.

    Breed Please?

At a glance I'm inclined to think white rock or amber links....some of the amber links start out stark white like that...just depends on the cross and hatchery they came from. I agree though...give them a few weeks and if they get super wide, then they are broilers...if not, then probably white...

I really may have to take you up on that. We bought the bantam reds from you just before the nationals for a showmanship bird....I just set some eggs from our bantam reds, but if they are still no fertile, I'd love to set a dozen RP eggs. I will candle this weekend and see where we stand and...
