You definitely need to give them their normal feed again as it contains all they nutrients they need to be healthy. I am not totally sure why they are not laying, but it could be partly down to not having the right food.
I have hens who are about 3 now. When they were quite young, some of them molted as well even though they were young too. I was worried about mite, but they definitely did not have them. I just waited for it to pass and they grew back lots of healthy new feathers. Maybe just to be on the safe...
I have 2 Silver Penciled Wyandotte Bantams, one hen and one cockerel. They both have beautiful marking on their feathers. My hen does not lay that often even though she is not that old, and goes through stages of laying, is this weird?
I have a Bantam hen who is broody and she will peck me when I try to collect the eggs. I am worried she is not very healthy sitting there a lot as she is quite small anyway, and may lose weight? How can I stop her being broody?
