he poo finally became almost normal for the last 3 days. But she started molting, and she stopped eating pellet for almost a week now.
she still eats grass, mealworm, scratch mixed with seed, but not pellet. we feed her tin tuna to help with omega3 but she showed not much interest.
She did...
no. in fact the vet rang university but found no clue. he rang us again yesterday suggested that if we don't mind we can do a blood test and urine test. this will be another $130
She was on antibiotics for 5 days since day 4. Metrogyl 200mg * 3 tablet, Tribactril 20 Tabs * 6 tablet
we checked her poo this morning, there were solid bits, but a lot of water(around half cup) . She is still losing feather but only a few.
my chicken is 1 year and 2 months old, she had just came out of broody buster on Saturday 20th May.
We noticed last Tuesday 23th (Day 1) that she poo was greenish and watery. In the meantime, she still ate but the crop was not as full as usual, and she lost feathers.
We visited a vet late on...
she once laid a soft shell egg, but only once. My husband does not like that idea of eggshells, i might have a look of calcium supplement in the water. thanks for the advice.
She's back laying! 1 egg over night and another during the day. This is another thing that we don't know how to fix.
During the day, if she's foraging in the backyard she could stand and lay as if the egg's just a huge poop. in rare case she would follow others laying in the laying box.
she is technically not free range. we built them (3 chooks) a run around the 7 sqm attached to the roost. in summer we let her out in the backyard to forage when we came home from work, in winter(now) it is dark when we got home so they were only "free range" in the weekends for a few hours...
Really appreciate.
it's a wyandotte. I just checked the temp. The lowest is around 10 degrees in early morning and by lunch time it's around 20 degree, it gets dark at 5pm.
I hope that molting and winter is main reason not that she is sick.
We could not figure out what's wrong with her and vet can't tell what's wrong with her. she is 1 year 1 month old, and had stopped laying for 2 months now.
we are in Sydney Australia.
From high summer (January) when the temp went up to over 40 degrees, she started to lay odd shaped eggs and...
it is
they dont seem to have problem with it last 2 times i give them.
we have the "damp, diggable soil in the deep shade", 2/3 of the chicken run are under a leafy tree, and the water is also nearby.
btw, we got up quite early this morning to find another egg in the coop, now she...
Yes, It's the coop with a perch. The weather was quite extreme, it was nearly 38degree for a week and finally cooled down with some heavy rains, now it's over 30degree again.
We used some pills the breeder gave us, we also used DE to give them a rub.
one of our chicken laying habit changed a little bit under a month ago.
we first noticed her egg in the bedroom in the early morning, and found another egg during the day. it happened a few times, so we always checked the bedroom everyday to make sure we did not miss any egg she could've laid...
one of my chicken started to behave broody by plug her feather out, staying in the laying box all day, clucky, puff out her feather .... anyway she has been in the wire bottom cage for 3 days.
today very early in the morning we found an egg in the cage, so she laid. the egg cracked and we had...
