I have seen them biting their combs when I toss them treats and the broody hen just attacks the hens for no reason they will just walking past her and she'll flag her wings and attack them and yes they have access to the fenced area at all times

I really can't take it to the vet as last time we where charged 800 dollars when we did all the treatment for the chickens is there anyway I could do it at home?

I don't really like free ranging as I live in a small town and there's dogs everywhere I keep my chicken in a tall fence and let them free range supervised once in a while plus 1 month ago I lost a chicken to a dog also raccoons are know around here....
