They have a pretty large outdoor enclosure so they forge all day long. Maybe I'll try putting the food away at night and only letting it out during the day and see if that helps. As for her brooding, thanks for the information. This is the first time I've ever had ducks and I'm still learning...
We are having trouble with mice getting in the duck feeder eating their food. My question is, would it be okay to only feed them twice a day like I do my dogs? Or do they need food all day? Maybe if the feeder wasn't always full we'd have less mice issues.

Quick question about their claws, nails or whatever they're called. Do the lose them and grow new? Both ducks look like they're missing one of their back claws. I'm not sure if this is common or if I should be alarmed. The 3 on the front look fine. Any thoughts?
Are anyone else's ducks little mud bombs right now? :lol: The weather here in Ohio has been mild the last week or so and we've had a LOT of rain. There outside run is a giant mud pit and they LOVE it! I'm fighting a losing battle trying to keep them clean.
