While Jerry and I disagree on this one, he has a point about waiting and seeing. If you want the best, biggest birds, you have to wait. I don't and won't do that. I want mine to mature faster and, imho, waiting is allowing slow growth as a favorable selection criteria. I'll take the...

That was a nice goose that Patti sold you...she has very good birds and wins alot with them and Melinda has just been almost unbeatable in Sebs for 3-4 years now..actually I dont think I have seen her get beat in the last 3 years. We were lucky enough to place 3rd in old hens..

I wasnt going to mention that part, Rudy. We did get lucky enough to have Champ AOV on a Partridge Wyandotte Pullet and Rudy got Reserve Champ AOV on a Partridge..I am sure that the judge was blind in one eye and squinting really hard with the other eye.
That BLRW cockerel is about 8...
Well Crossroads was fun..but I think that show might have just been too big, took me forever to get my birds cooped in Thursday night....coop out went smooth, which surprised me. I got to meet Rudy and his family...he had his helper Nathan with him..it was way too cute to watch 3 yr old Nathan...
Well its raining very hard this morning and I have to load my trailer with birds and then wait for my son to get home for school so we can leave for the show....the bad part is the birds are a long, long way from the house...rain means no trailer backed up to the barn...which means carrying all...

If your other eggs are also hatching late, but not quite as late, it could indicate your temp needs a little, little boost. I find that different varieties/breeds hatch differently but have not noticed that Wyandottes as a breed hatch differently than others. I think it more a strain...
I am sure that will be a really strong class of LF Orps at Crossroads..west coast-east coast...but in the end....the Indiana birds will be hard to beat, especially with Doug on the Indiana team
