Doing better with the new set of eggs. One chick actually pipped on its own and now popped out of a big hole instead of zipping. Sleeping and resting now.
Can I see pictures of what your next stage containers look like? What did you use for substraight?
The chick has been active in the egg most of the weekend, saw the beak open and close. Thai morning I haven't seen much movement, maybe a slight move of a feather.
Also it used to be heavy full of liquid, not it feels lighter
I wonder if we should assist it more through the hole, or count it...
Thank you so much everyone for your advice.
We will keep an eye on it and see what happens. I have not touched it since the hole has been made, but watch it a lot and I see lots of activity inside.
My temp is at 101.6. Keeping it there. I hope this fella comes out in its own.
I have it moistened with Vaseline, through the small hole I made. Everytime I look at it there is a lot of movement in the membrane. Strong kicks.
I wonder how long this will go on and if it would pop it's self
Okay so I made a hole int he air sack and I saw movement right away in the membrane, couldn't tell if the beak was showing, dark feathers.
Put it back into the Bator and we will see.
It's a still air stirofoam container. I have it stable at 100 and 30% now.
I really want to save this chick, should I do the assist? It's wiggling crazy in the water test, but no pips or chirps.
Good morning. Its me again, so I did the float test and it's still sinking but boy is it wiggling. It's 3 days past due...
What can I do?? I feel bad for this chick.
For the first 18 days it was at 45 50. Then we increased it to 65. But our water heater thermostat is having fluxs in temp that we are working on controlling.
Hello.
I hope someone can help me. I'm a first time hatcher of fresh eggs from a farm.
Last week one of the eggs at 22 days sunk in the water test, but within seconds was wiggling. So we gave it one more day and then it didn't wiggle. We assisted it and it was not breathing, and had its full...
Anyone here have a 21 day old chicken egg sink, but wiggle in the water test?
What does that mean? What can I do to improve its chances of hatching.
My temp is 100 and humidity is 65
