Lil chickys hanging out in the big brooder my grandpa made me. 4'x2'x2'. All 17 chicks still alive and thriving well. So excited to start coop after the rain this weekend.
Oh yeah definitely. So far everyone is doing great, and the brooder my grandpa built for me looks fantastic. It's around 80 here right now outside so we don't have to have the heat lamp on full blast to hit 95.
I definitely recommend getting a dimmer switch for your heat lamp. They work...

I keep adding chicks to my order, so I've decided to stay off Meyer until Monday.
Started with 15 now at 18, I need to control myself lol. I just couldn't help it I wanted a leg bar and they had one rare Maran assortment pullet left and I want one soooo bad...
Ahhhhhh guys I only have 12 days until my 16 babies are hatched. I'm so excited. We start construction on the coop this weekend. I'm guessing I'll get at least two Roos, so we will end up with around 14 hens, fingers crossed. My coop is going to be 5x10 with 4or 5 nesting boxes and a 10x11 run...

Definitely not overreacting. My probuct package came delivered to the house completely trashed the other day so I'm going to ream into them today and let them know that if they think they aren't fit to handle live chicks I will send my package elsewhere
Hi guys, I'm jumping on this Thread. I'm getting my first batch of chicks in February, 1 Australorpe 1 Olive Egger, 2 Rhode Island Red, 2 Barred Rock, 2 Lavender Orpington, 3 Easter Eggers, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Silver Laced Wyondettes and 1 Meyer meal maker. So excited.
