hummm........ egg shape tells sex of "to be chick"....thoughts???

Ok, This is the second time I've heard this, and both people swear up and down its true..... They say the more oval eggs will produce pullets, while eggs with the pointy end will be cockerels. Personally I don't believe it, but it would be great if I'm wrong. Anyone have thoughts, or...

    Just devastated =(

Sun Shine was missing when I got home.... She was my sweet heart, my spoiled little girl. She was hit by a terrible illness a couple weeks ago. She held tough, and I nursed her back to health. Spending hours dripping water & yogurt in his beck during the worst. She made a full recovery...

    Can Japaneses eat pellet feed?

My son has a Jananeses pair for hi 4H project. Can they eat the pellet feed? Or do I need to buy them crumbles? I fear they would be too big, or might choke. Really don't want to keep buying a 25lb bag of crumbles just for them though..... not to mention the waste! Thanks.

    Guess your chicken obsessed when......

You spend your only "free time" hand feeding a sick hen, and researching chicken poop pictures to determine if she may have worms.

    Tylan 50 injectable taken orally?

I've been reading old post for an hour now. So may different opinions. Several people say they give the Tylan directly into the mouth instead of giving injection. Doing that would make me feel much better, because the injection scares me to death. But it's whats best for her... So...

Are they refusing the pellet? or do they really eat that little?

Because of the waste/mess I decided to switch from crumbles to pellets. I have 5 americana chickens, and used to fill their 1 gal food bowl each day. They would empty it by afternoon, and that was with them free ranging for bugs ect. With the pellets I've gone 2.5 days before I had to fill it...

    Chickens & rabbits together?

Just wondering if having a couple rabbit in the chicken run during the days with my hens will be ok. My son is starting 4H, and it would be nice if we could multi-task the very large run with have, instead of building a new area. Our main priority if the well-being of all the animals, so we will...

My rooster is insistent on going into the tree to sleep... I've never had a problem with the idea, until the new ladies one night decided to follow. That night something nabbed 2 of them. After years of Snow White and camo sleeping up there, I didn't think much of it. First attach in a tree...
