    City quiet ducks?.....

Not the best video, but gives an idea how noisy they can get. These 4 were just let out and got a bit chatty. The one does bark on occasion.

    City quiet ducks?.....

I have 4 Silver Appleyard Ducks. They are fairly quiet, but do make some noise when I let them out into the yard. The one female does get a bit loud when she wants out or wants food. Sounds like she is laughing. Wack, wack, wack, wack, wack, wack. Does that a few times a day. I don't think...

    Bumblefoot on Silver Appleyard foot?

Pulled the black scab away today. I have been applying an antiseptic to the area everyday. It looked smaller today and came off easy. There is some gunk in the area that looks like a bit of hard cheese that I couldn't get out. Applied antiseptic to it and some antibacterial cream.

    Bumblefoot on Silver Appleyard foot?

Thank you for the great information. Picked up the white iodine today and will be soaking her feet. The wrap I put on last night didn't stay on. Kind of funny seeing a duck foot shaped bandage on the ground. I had a staph infection once. Was not a pleasant experience. Hope this will clear up...

Hello, Well, this poor little duck has not had a good time of it. This is one of 3 ducks I hatched out and had to give away. I picked 2 of the 3 back up last week. This one had an eye infection/damaged eyelid and a swollen cheek on the right side. The swelling has gone down and the eye is much...

    Injured Silver Appleyard duck eye/face

I was hoping to find a local vet that would look at ducks. Just in case I needed to take the little one in. So far, no one local. Was given wildlife rehabilitation center phone numbers as the vets kept telling me the duck is considered wildlife. Problem is, it's a domestic duck breed. Anyway...

Attack in duck house last night :(

Glad you caught the killer. Keep in mind it maybe illegal to trap and release wildlife to a different area. Had a raccoon rip up some bee hives once. It never got a second chance.

Ok, things are much better. Swelling is almost gone. Eye is watery. The eye has tears actively going when I picked him/ her up. Poor little duck was crying from the looks of it. Above is a photo of them all. Marshmallow is the smallest of the flock. Puff is the next size up. Both dicks hatched...

Wondering if it might be a sinus infection and the animal attack just happened to be when he noticed the problem. The swollen area does not feel hard. It feels soft.

    Injured Silver Appleyard duck eye/face

Hello, I had 3 Silver Appleyard ducks hatch out earlier in the year. I ended up having to give them away when they were a couple weeks old. I wanted to get one of the females back later if possible and the person I gave them to said I could have any number of them back. Today, I got a message...

Well, the one in the front is female, the one in back is male. In the image posted above. This is a more recent photo. One quacks and the other wucks. They make a mess of their water in 10 minutes. Drake front, duck back.
