I'm starting a flock of Easter egger hens and will have a white ameraucana rooster in the bunch. Can I breed them to get Easter Eggers? Can I also breed him to other breeds like brown leghorns, australorps, etc to get easter eggers?
Can you breed an Easter egger rooster with easter egger hens and still label them as 'Easter Eggers'? What breeds do people typically use with Ameraucaunas to get Easter Eggers?
Hello,
So I placed a bid for this camera on ebay. But after I bid on it I found the seller has the same exact item in a different auction listing, and it has a different location on it. Should I retract my bid? Does it look like a scam?
Here are the two links...
I'm buying the nikon d700 camera and was wondering what everyone's experience and opinion is with this camera. Should I invest in the nikon d800 instead? Is it much better than the 700?Would also like to know what lens everyone uses.
Thanks in advance
Hi all,
I'm really looking into buying the Nikon d700 camera, but just about all of the ones I come across say 'body only'. Does this just mean it doesn't come with the lens? Where could I get the lens and how much are they? Also, what is everyone's experience with this camera?
Thanks!
I'm thinking about getting into 4h and was wondering, do your pets have to be purebred and meet certain requirements? Do they have to be registered?
Thanks in advance
Does anyone have the 20.1 pixel sony W830? I bought one that's arriving next week and would like to see if anyone has any photos they'd like to share so I can see the quality?
TIA!
Hello all,
I'm interested in getting a small breed of dog and I really love Basset Hounds, their saggy faces, long ears, etc.. Who can resist? :)
However I really don't like that hounds tend to run and always have their noses to the ground..
I was also walking a beagle once and she was literally...
I ordered chicks from Cackle Hatchery and they are booked to ship Monday. Cackle hatchery is only a little over 3 hours from me so I was wondering if it's possible for them to arrive on Tuesday? I know they usually ship later in the today so I'm thinking maybe I'll get them Wednesday. But is it...
So I have my order of silkie chicks coming in the mail soon, and I'm really excited to start raising this breed as I've heard that they're a great breed to own. I was just wondering what other Silkie owners think about this breed and what are they like? I've also heard that they're pretty calm...
Hello,
I believe I heard that fermenting chicken feed filled them up faster or something and it saves you from having to buy it as often. Would this be a good idea for baby chicks so their food lasts longer?
Thank you all in advance!
Hello,
It's me again.. I was wondering if anyone has ever lost any chicks when they've gotten big orders of like, 25 or so? I've gotten poultry through hatcheries before but have never gotten more than six. So this is definitely going to be a different experience. They're all silkies so would...
Hello all!
I just placed an order for 25 silkie chicks, but after I placed it, it said "Please allow at least 10 business days to receive your confirmation of a reserved hatch/shipping date we have found for you. You will be notified by phone, mail or email" What exactly does this mean? Could my...
Hello all,
I've hatched eggs before in the past, but ended up with a rather unsuccessful hatch rate which I think was probably due to the fact that I couldn't maintain humidity in the incubator. Even if I put the tiniest amount of water in, my humidity would spark up to the 60's in the first...
I'm looking for a cheap, reliable incubator but I don't want to spend anymore than $100. I was wondering if anyone knows if I could get a good incubator for this price? Thank you all in advance and I look forward to your replies!
Hello,
Is it safe to use kitty litter as chick bedding since they make such a mess with hay and I would like to be able to scoop the poop up easily? Or is there any recommended brand of sand I can use?
Hi all,
I'm looking to start my own flock of chickens soon, (raising them from chicks of course) Not really an egglaying breed, more of a docile, friendly breed that enjoys human attention. I've heard silkies are the 'lap birds' of the chicken breed world. What are everyone else's experience...
