if you have a heating lamp put him under it or keep him warm. coming out so soon and being exposed to air can make him cold. he should be kept at about 90 degrees. they shouldn't be eating duck food until a little bit. they may need water but i'm not positive. i dont know about the belly
I got 2 ducks about 2 weeks ago. they are about 4 weeks old. my science teacher hatched some pekin ducks and gave them out. we assumed they were pekin since that's how my teacher bought them. we've been told many times that one of the ducks we got is pekin and the other is alyesbury. paisley...
I have 2 pekin ducks, Paisley and Paxton, and they are about 4 weeks old. I am worried because I think they might be laying down in their poop and bedding. I'm 99% certain that this is the cause. It gives them a brown belly. I tried washing it off with just water but it doesn't work. Does...
My science teacher hatched 14 Pekin ducklings in her classroom. I got 2 and named them Paisley and Paxton bc we think one is a girl and the other is a boy. When my teacher bought the eggs they were all supposed to be pekin and that's what everyone thought. my sister was excited and sent pics of...
you can also pay close attention to the way they speak. if it's a loud pitched call = girl. if it's a low, quieter, deep, grimy voice= boy. this is hard to tell and it really just depends on their mood. this method isn't super reliable
1st you can look at the feathers on their tail. if it points down, it's most likely a girl. i it points up, it's most likely a boy. this can be tricky to tell because they can move their tail up on it's own
for your second question, no nothing is wrong. just be sure that your bathtub is tall enough that they won't be able to jump out. i don't know how old your ducks are but in their first week of birth, their heating lamp should be about 90 degrees. after each week the temp. should be decreasing by...
