For the nest boxes put some nesting herbs inside that particularly smell good and it may encourage going in and sniff the herbs which eventually they will associate the nest box with good smell and maybe they will go and lay in it. I don't even know if this works but I'm gonna try it

I highly recommend a Dominique, they are very friendly, gentle and easygoing and lay a fairly good supply of eggs maybe 4 a week, give or take. My dominiques do well with my other breeds of chickens.
Ummmm...ok. I have kids and animals and work full time in addition to rescuing animals. I will not apologize for paying a teenager $20 to clean cages and remove snow so he can supplement his allowance. Jeez!
