You can try adding fake eggs into the nesting box, that has worked for some of my pullets. I only have 2/6 that will actually use my nesting boxes the others lay under the raised boxes.
For future reference for others I thought I’d update this thread. Healing has been a long process we’re four weeks in now. Here’s what I did for treatment. I used vetericyn to clean the wound 3x a day the first week. After patting it dry I slathered it in medical honey link here...
When I had my hen with Bumblefoot I didn’t. Just have to make sure they aren’t getting picked on. And make sure you are changing the bandage often to keep everything clean!
Thank you for the specifics on the varieties you grow. I’ve considered trying a raised bed because I hear they are easier to control as far as soil and waterings.
😮 That is crazy! Sounds like you have great luck with beans. Is your garden in the ground or a raised bed? Ours is just in the ground our soil is sandy loam. Plan on adding some cow manure over winter to help bring in more nutrients to the soil before we plant next spring.
Wow, that’s crazy to get that out of so few plants! I still can’t believe how bad our beans went. We did plant one row of bush black eyed peas and got covered up in them! I’ve never heard of wax beans I’ll have to look those up, thanks for the tip!
That’s what I’ve heard and my grandma had great success for years growing them just down the road. Don’t know what went wrong, but I won’t be wasting my time anytime soon it was so disappointing!
