Well this morning when I went to get the eggs I disturbed on of our EEs trying to lay and then this afternoon got our first egg from her (brown on in the back is from on of our other hens)
So our new babies were getting cramped in their brooder so my husband and I extended our current coop/run on Sunday to fit our 3 ISA browns and our 6 new baby chicks. ( 3 ameraucana but I’ve been told they are actually Easter Eggers, and our 3 Wyandotte) they seem to love it!
Well I originally got the Ameraucanas because they were supposed to lay blue eggs but to possibly get green is super cool. Fingers crossed I have at least one female in that group
We have added 6 new chicks to our flock. When chick days at TSC came around we were super excited to add to our flock of 3 ISAs. We got 3 Wyandotte and 3 ameraucana, Some may be roosters so those guys will have to find an new home but the rest we will keep our coop can handle 8 chickens. But...

To clear some things up. We live in southern California so our winters are mild and our summers are warm.
Everyone sort of confirmed what I already thought. the 200 budget was not really a total budget but what I was willing to pay for a pre built one...
We are looking for our first coop and while I can build one, the idea of buying one seems to be in the back of my mind.
