Okay, so now my humidity is at 71% is that too much for the quails?

I did try and raise the humidity and so far it's at 61%!!

It is day 14 for my coturnix quail eggs and they have begun to shake. My temperature is 100° and my humidity is 54%. My question is how long until the eggs start to pip? Is the humidity and temperature okay?

Are they moving on their own? If they are they might be hatching VERY soon!!

I made a homemade still air incubator and I'm currently incubating some Coturnix Quail eggs (this is my second time, the first time I had a humidity and temp issue) and the incubator is working perfectly!!! I suggest you at least try to make one...i hope they hatch!!

I opened them today and sadly the remaining 5 were dead. Three of the eggs had this white mushy stuff, and the other two had fully developed chicks inside!!! I'm pretty sure the problem was the temperature and humidity (I've had a lot of fluctuations). I'm going to try again in a couple of days...

I have candled them, so far all of them are full (except the air cell). One of the air cells had a giant dip in one side, and the others just have a normal air cell. I did see a little black blob in the center of one of the air cells although it might have been my flashlight. So glad to hear...

It's day 21, there is no movement, piping, chirping, or anything...would it be a good idea to make a little hole in the air sack for the eggs? I think I might be getting to impatient :thbut I have a feeling they haven't survived..should i just leave them in for another 24 hours because I would...

I think I'll just wait and be patient (it's pretty difficult) because I have been opening the incubator way too much to check on them and i have a feeling if i open it anymore ill kill the chicks (hopefully theyre still alive).

Would it be too dangerous to float them again just to make sure I was correct?

I just float tested them to be sure and there were a couple that were floating with the air cell sideways. The remaining egg floated with its air cell straight. Is there anything wrong with the eggs?

So glad they hatched!!! I've never heard of quail enjoying mirrors, but I'll try it out when they hatch!!
