    Texas 2011 Chickenstock

I'm missing it again this year. We were making chicken pens, cleaning brooders, putting eggs into lockdown and working on the new brooder house. DH is in China for business so I was having to supervise. Maybe next year. I hope you all had fun! : Angelique

DW needs help! Are animal rescues a waste of time?

Unfortunately only the first one is in T shirt form but I figure wearing the buttons on a T shirt would count. : Angelique Quote: angelique_redhead, DW wants them in t-shirt form.

DW needs help! Are animal rescues a waste of time?

These are not at all politically correct. However, I like them. http://www.myteespot.com/When-I-Want-Your-Opinion-Ill-Beat-It-Out-Of-You-Chuck-Norris-p-8876.html http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/stickers/3274/ http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/stickers/9d3a/ Good luck to your wife. ...

What do I do about my agressive rooster?

I have enough roosters that if I have one that's being aggressive one that's pleasant is given his spot. The only one that is even mildly aggressive has been convinced that I'm more A. Dominant B. Dangerous than he is. He's learned he's not Dominant to my daughter either. : Angelique

Is it worth the work to butcher your own chickens?

I'd be OK with processing my own birds but I'm thanking my lucky stars that I didn't have to. We took 27 birds in to be processed and they had the commercial scalder, plucker and meat saws. It took about 30-45 minutes from start to finish. All I had cut apart/off was the legs though. They fit...

EE Chickens 24 weeks Old no eggs.

I have at least 4 out of 6 late bloomers. They're 22 1/2 weeks. At least one of those that lays green eggs was relatively early so I'm hoping the others lay blue. There are 8 of them total and the blue egg layers were later here. 2 so far lay blue. Of those two one is around a year and one is...

Open Letter to the People who FREAK OUT because I eat my chickens.....

I raised 30 meat birds this Spring. 27 survived to be processed. My husband says it's some of the best chicken he's ever had. I hatch my own chicks. My daughter knows that the excess roosters are going to the processers in November because I don't need 25-50 extra roosters except in the freezer...
