Is this chick gonna make it?

They are probably only 1-3 weeks old and were bought at the local tractor supply store. They are in a brooder and do have heat.

Is this chick gonna make it?

Hi everyone! My friend is the proud new owner of 8 baby chicks. Unfortunately yesterday she noticed that the brown chick (all the rest are yellow) is segregated from the rest and laying on its side, but she is still drinking and eating. She is the smallest and doesn't seem to have any ailments...

Hens losing feathers on their bellies!!!!

They will be 1 in may. I have 6 hens (5 BO and 1 EE), and no roos. They get varies fruits and veggies for snacks and eat the standard 18% pellets for layers. I don't think we have any rat or mice issues but I guess I cant be sure.

Hens losing feathers on their bellies!!!!

Help!!! Are my girls ok? I just noticed that 4 out of my 6 hens are plucked bare under their legs/belly/backside area. It looks like it was bleeding a little but has clogged up. They are acting, eating, playing the same though. Are they molting??? I don’t know what’s going on!!

My EE won't stop Pecking her eggs!!

I have to double check the bag but I think its 18% and its the complete nutrition pellets for layers. I also feed them snacks once a day (various veggies, fruit, cooked eggs, salad greens, pasta, mealworms, etc)

My EE won't stop Pecking her eggs!!

I always put a lot (3 inches worth usually) of hay/pine shavings in their coop on the floor and in the nest boxes and they always always dig down to the wood floor before laying.

My EE won't stop Pecking her eggs!!

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely put some fake eggs in there and see if that helps. I always add additional grit and oyster shells to their pellets (which I keep full and available to them at all times). In answer to your other question...she never eats her eggs, theres only a peck/nail...

Hello all!! My husband and I just bought a new house with 4.5 acres in VT, and now I am a proud first time chicken owner! I have 5 buff orpingtons and 1 snowy EE. For the last week or so my EE (Snow White) seems to be pecking the beautiful green egg that she lays everyday. I try to get in the...
