    UPDATE: 10 weeks now and he/she has a bigger, redder comb. Thoughts? The comb is actually a little paler than the pic suggests, it wasn't the best light in which to take the picture

    Update: Approaching 9 weeks now and still not a lot of breast feathers, but comb is much more developed. Thinking cockerel now. Hopefully someone can disprove me?:)

    Can I add hens to my chicks?

    Any breed can pick on them - but at 7 or 8 weeks your chicks should be big enough not to be injured by your layers pecking/bullying. Does depend on the run size. How big?
