Anyone have experience with Rugged Ranch walk-in pen?

We have 4 hens. So this should be enough space even if we add a few more in the spring.

Anyone have experience with Rugged Ranch walk-in pen?

Is it worth the money? I am not a handy person nor is my husband so building a run is very intimidating. So I thought about purchasing the Rugged Ranch walk-in run. But wow on $600. If you've had one is it worth the cost?

How to attach a run to this coop?

I'm torn between doing this or purchasing a pen (I'm looking at rugged ranch universal walkin pen). The pen would be easier by far, but a whole lot more expensive.

    EGG EATING, HELP!!!

I might have the same problem. Got my first egg (ever!) yesterday. Had two in the coop (not nest boxes) today and one was broken and they ate it. Planning to head to the feed store and get some fake eggs, but I'm hoping this doesn't become a habit!!

How to attach a run to this coop?

Thanks for the responses!! I am totally leaning toward the taller pen now that I've had a temporary run set up with old toddler play gates. It's about 2.5 feet high and I have extra gate on top to keep hawks out and birds in. But Zelda is my escape artist and even supervised she finds a way...

How to attach a run to this coop?

townchicks, we've looked at kennels, they're pretty $$, but I'm guessing after doing the pressure treated lumber we might be adding up the $$ once the hardware cloth goes on. Still I'm hoping to put a run with a low profile next to the coop.

How to attach a run to this coop?

I definitely plan to apron the wire out to deter digging. I've seen fox on our trail cam... and we have everything from coyote to bobcats. the 4x6 idea in two sections is interesting, do you have any photos? And how do you get your girls back in after free ranging? I've spent most of my summer...

How to attach a run to this coop?

Anything more than 120sqft requires a permit... but I"m wondering if that's only if it has a floor... like a shed... any way, I don't think I could afford that much hardware cloth!:) I'm planning on the run to be predator proof, so lots of hardware cloth.

How to attach a run to this coop?

It would make things easier to make a big run around the coop but we don't want something that big in the back (we're in the burbs... and I bet there are building permits I'd need if I made it big enough to include the coop). thanks though!

How to attach a run to this coop?

Attached is the coop (it's since been painted and hasp locks added.) Its on a slight slope with boulders in the ground. I want to build an 8x8x?(maybe 4') for the girls. How can I attach the run to the coop so that I can let the chickens out via the drop-down pop door??? (pop door is in front...

    16 week old lethargic EE

Dose #2 for Jordan and she's running around with the other chickens today, like nothing happened. She actually perked up a few hours after the very first dose. :) Thank you everyone for all your help and prayers. HUGS!!

    16 week old lethargic EE

I put 1.5 tsp in 1 gal of water and had her drink some of that. Is there another dosage that I should give her? Thanks! Oh, and yes, the rest of the water is in the waterer for all the chickens. I'm with you about giving them all the medication, especially if it won't bother them. AH< I clicked...

    16 week old lethargic EE

Thanks Coach! Any idea what to expect now that the water is dosed? How long does recovery take. (just in case it's not coccidiosis) I was able to feed Jordan drops of the medicated water after I set up the waterer. She was alert enough to drink a few mls.

    16 week old lethargic EE

I checked the store in NH. Will head over there today to pick up the Corid. Thank you all for helping!! I checked on Jordan this morning when I water and opened the feed for them, she's alert and eating (pretty sure she's the alpha hen). So hopefully by mid morning I'll be able to get the...

    16 week old lethargic EE

Update: I checked on her (Jordan) this afternoon around 3. She was alert and eating (I threw some scratch in the coop, it's been raining all day). I went to close up the feed pvc just now and she's back to eyes closed on the roost. I ordered powder Corid from Amazon but it won't get here until...

    16 week old lethargic EE

She hasn't lost any weight, but I'll keep an eye on her poop. I don't want to stress her out by separating her just yet. I'm in MA and was told I can't buy anything with an antibiotic unless through a vet. sigh. So I'm calling around.
