    Another update - he definitely feels like this is a nasty parasite or bacterial infection. She is on IV fluids, steroids and antibiotics. They are hoping for a stool sample but she is not eating, so they are forcing her to. They will give an update in the morning. He also told me he is unsure...

    Update - vet just got to her, as he’s working with her between surgeries. She’s been on fluids and they are trying to get some protein and such into her. He’s about to run some examinations. Said she’s perked up a bit and is much more alert.

    It’s so crazy how fragile they can be. Even if she does pass, at least I feel like I’ll have some kind of answer. I’ve had 2 deaths in the flock since May. A RIR that passed from EYP and thencurrent hens sister, who we culled. I last dewormed everyone in June, so that will be coming up again soon.

    That’s what I have found as I have searched also. The vet remarked that her abdomen felt a little hot, something I hadn’t noticed. I’m honestly more leading to infection now. But birds are so damn feeble. They get one thing and can succumb to another.

    I’m so sorry I’m doing this so out of order. LOL State lab is so expensive. Vet will preform one if I wish. My husband does the culling and unfortunately he is working out of town right now. I can’t cull. I am a giant baby.
