I got these chicks from a tractor supply. They were labeled light brahma pullets but I could tell they were actually buff brahma. Anyway, I want to make sure they are pullets and not cockerels. I know it's hard to tell with the pea combs but I'm guessing they are female. I got them mid August so...
My friend wanted me to help sell her 12 roosters. So I was taking some pictures of them and I SWEAR some look like hens. They were an assortment from the hatchery so I'm not sure of the breeds but maybe red star? Some rhode island red? A leghorn? A black one, not sure which breed. Take a look at...
I got two straight run chicks chosen out an assortment from a Hatchery. They are pure something, however the Hatchery can only give me ideas of which breed it might be since it was an assortment with several breeds. Maybe someone here can help me decide. I thought maybe light brahma or blue...
Possible. I had considered that or a spider. I really think it's a sprain. Shes smallest and still tries to follow and do the things the other duckings do. Maybe came out of the pool wrong?
I noticed my khaki Campbell duckling limping yesterday evening. She had been fine during the day and we were around in the yard most the time. She never strays from the other ducklings but around 2:30 I noticed her sunning in the yard alone, then my husband ran my chickens away from her around 3...
So I have 4 jersey giant pullets almost 8 weeks old and I swear ones a rooster. I attached a few pics as well as one of my other pullets for comparison. What do you think
Shes doing really well! It looks like its healing nicely and she seems to be acting normal (except for not laying) the apron is doing good to give her a little extra protection too!
She seems to be in good spirits today. A little more active when I changed her dressings. I've attached pictures. I'm hoping the green color is just from bleed from the green apron and neosporin getting on it. No smells and I'm trying to keep dressed to keep flys away.
I totally meant to take photos I was just so upset. Today she seemed a tiny bit perkier. I redressed her wounds and made my first saddle/apron, it didn't turn out too bad for a first try. I'm hoping it adds a bit of extra protection. I let her walk about a bit then returned her to her clean...
I went out to shut my coop tonight and found one of my poor hens plucked, wet, and in a horrible state! I'm not sure what attacked her (possibly my dog or woodland preditor) but she was at least alive. I cleaned her up put some medicine and bandages on her and put her in a clean dry container in...
