They were attacked in the morning in my front yard. Only evidence was a bunch of feathers from my Brahma. 3 others no sign of and the injured one that came back to the coop in the afternoon. I’m not sure how to post a video. She is lying down a lot but is able to food and drink. She did jump up...
I had a recent attack on my girls. All dead but 1 which is injured. She is walking really weird but legs don’t seem Brocken nor wings. I think it was a fox attack. I don’t know how she got away but she’s not right. Maybe broken back or pelvic area.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
I’m at a loss. Another hen pecks as well ,copycat! They have been doing this off and on for months doesn’t matter the weather. We live in Maryland. I think I may try caging her. If everyone gets along with the May hen pecked separate I may just remove her. The ones being pecked are a year...
That’s what I can’t figure out... why! They free range all day. I give them a mix of nutrena feather fixer 18% protein and blue seal egg layer. They have free access to their food. They also get food scraps.
Frustrating.
I would try separating another duck with her so she’s not alone and then reintroduce them both at night. That’s how I do it with chickens. Can’t be too much different. Good luck, hope it works out. Birds can be such bullies.
They are so cute! They look like hens but pretty young yet. I accidentally got 4 roosters when I first started. I should have know with the sparing that was going on but it was all new! Good luck they are beautiful!
Is she getting enough sun? Calcium is absorbed with vit D.
Also is going through any stress ie; coop changes, flock changes, predators hanging out etc. that can cause thin or absent shells as well.♀️
my top hen keeps pecking the butt/vent feathers from a younger chicken. I have tried everything to get her to stop. She had plucked all the feathers out until it was bald! I have separated, sprayed, put ointment on and I finally( after separating) had the feathers grown partially back and...
My chickens are going through coccidiosous. Their combs were pale but not yellow. My chickens are black, I’m not sure if that’s what pale looks like on your breed however yellow just sounds jaundice. If you feed them lots of treats they can get liver disease.
I would take her to a vet especially...
