Broody Khaki Campbell Sitting on Eggs 24/7

Nope. Mama Duck is not mama duck. She was sitting on infertile eggs and they all turned rotten. SO, we removed everything including the nest, the eggs (yes we checked them) and now Mama Duck is not broody anymore either. We will probably try not collecting in spring time instead.

She started about 8-9 days ago sitting on her nest full time. I candled today and see a lot of eggs that look like this.. what does this mean? She’s a khaki Campbell.

Broody Khaki Campbell Sitting on Eggs 24/7

Mama Duck is so committed to her eggs, she doesn’t want to get up AT ALL. I have been having to put food and water near her and even then that’s too far. She will not budge. Any experience? I feel like I need to encourage her to move a little each day but she won’t. TIPS PLEASE.

Here she is in the nest (Right corner). It’s inside the coop. Safe from predators, etc.

Khaki Campbell Laying Eggs In Nest, Won’t Sit

YOU GUYS.... WE HAVE A BROODY DUCK. She won’t leave her eggs. There are about 20+ eggs under her... and she made the nest more comfortable with straw and shavings and now officially won’t leave the nest for anything. I AM SO HAPPY.

Khaki Campbell Laying Eggs In Nest, Won’t Sit

We have 2 Khaki Campbell Females (6-7 months), 1 Lavender Muscovy Female (8-9 weeks) and 1 Pekin Drake (7 months). The two Khaki campbells are laying. They are also mating with the Drake. There are 6 eggs in the nest they made but they don’t seem interested in sitting on them. I have no idea...
